FAQs
How often am I supposed to see the dentist?
For your dental health, it's important to see your dentist at least once every six months. Your dentist will check for oral cancer, periodontal disease, cavities, and other dental health issues. The earlier dental problems are caught, the easier it is to perform effective treatments. And it's usually less expensive, too!
Should I worry about periodontal disease?
Yes. Periodontal disease affects your health on many levels. Not only can it harm your gums, jawbone, and teeth, but it has also been linked to heart attacks, pancreatic cancer, diabetes, and strokes. Fortunately, gum disease can be reversed with periodontal therapy and daily oral homecare. Ensuring your gum health is another reason to visit your dentist regularly.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Not only is teeth whitening safe, but it's also effective and comfortable. Teeth whitening can be administered via chairside service or a take-home kit. Your dull, yellowed teeth can be whitened up to twelve shades, depending on the type of professional grade bleaching product used by the dentist.
What kind of dental technologies are available?
Modern dentistry includes ever-evolving, state-of-the-art dental techniques, products, and equipment that make your oral healthcare safe, effective, comfortable, and easier to perform. Some of these new dental technologies include laser treatments, CEREC milling machines, oral cancer screeners, DIAGNOdent, and digital X-rays.
Do pregnant women have more oral health problems?
The hormonal changes that result from pregnancy can affect gums, making them more susceptible to gum disease and other issues as cavities. Read more about pregnancy and oral health!
