Dr. Kerbs grew up in Draper, Utah. After completing a service mission in Osaka, Japan, he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Medical Biology and minor in Chemistry. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. While completing his dental degree, Dr. Kerbs received multiple scholarships, including one from the National Institutes of Health for his research and publication on gene mapping and the discovery of antibiotic resilient genes.
Upon graduation, Dr. Kerbs went on to complete a one year fellowship, expanding his education to include full mouth dental reconstruction, placement and restoration of dental implants as well as molar endodontics, orthodontics and complex oral surgery.
Having practiced dentistry in Arizona since 2005, Dr. Kerbs' desire to provide affordable, comprehensive dental care, and his "put the patient care first" philosophy, has helped him expand to nine offices in the Valley. Patients and staff alike enjoy his professional but friendly demeanor as well as his dental craftsmanship.
Dr. Kerbs and his wife have two small children, and he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also oil paints, and has donated several of his paintings to local charities for fundraising campaigns.

Timothy Yu, DMD - Orthodontist
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Timothy Yu was born and raised in Michigan and went to Oberlin College in Ohio where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in biology. He continued his love of science by attending Temple University School of Dentistry in Pennsylvania where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree graduating near the top of his class.
During dental school he found his life’s calling—orthodontics, and continued his pursuit by remaining at Temple University to complete his orthodontic residency earning a Master’s of Science Degree and Orthodontic Specialty Certificate. During residency he was able to explore many cutting-edge areas of orthodontics culminating in his master’s thesis studying the effectiveness of Invisalign compared to conventional braces. As a resident he also enjoyed introducing dental students in the intricacies of orthodontics as a preclinical lab instructor. In 2008 he moved to Phoenix with his wife Lucia and began to set roots welcoming their first child Noah in 2010.
Dr. Yu is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and American Board of Orthodontics. In his spare time he loves golfing and spending time with his wife and family
Marshall Hanson, DDS

Dr. Hanson loves dentistry! He uses his extensive knowledge, finely honed skills, and artistic craftsmanship to create beautiful, healthy smiles. He genuinely cares about his patients and does all he can to provide an outstanding dental care experience that they can’t wait to tell their friends about. You’ll like his gentle touch, caring demeanor, and attention to detail.
After obtaining his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho, Dr. Hanson received his DDS from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He continues to further his education with classes in cosmetic dentistry and has obtained Invisalign and Biolase (laser dentistry) certification.
Dr. Hanson is currently a member of the ADA, AGD, AACD, and Arizona Dental Association.
Dr. Hanson and his wife, Denia, have a 5-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hanson enjoys artistic endeavors, including drawing, sculpting, and composing music. Outdoor pursuits include rock climbing, hiking, and canoeing.
Elena M. Alexander, DDS

Dr. Alexander grew up in Mesa Arizona. After graduating from Red Mountain High School, she went to Apollo College to train as a dental assistant. After several years as a dental assistant in the east valley, she decided to continue with her education and go on to dental school. Dr. Alexander completed her undergraduate work at Arizona State University before moving her family to Omaha, Nebraska. There she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Creighton University. She also received the Ridder Operative Award, Certificate of Merit for leadership at One World Clinic, and the Holbrook Scholarship. Dr. Alexander, her husband, and two children enjoy traveling around Arizona to see the beautiful sites and learn the states history. She also enjoys camping, scrapbooking, baking, and summer pool parties with friends and family.
Kevin Ramsey, DMD

Dr. Kevin Ramsey is a native of Arizona. He grew up in Mesa where he attended Mesa High School. After high school Dr. Ramsey served in the U.S. Army Aviations 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment where he flew medivac and search and rescue. Throughout his time in the military Dr. Ramsey was stationed in Korea, and Bosnia, as well as many stateside assignments, ending his military service in Colorado.
After the military Dr. Ramsey attended Arizona State University where he studied Chemistry and Business. After graduating from Arizona State University Dr. Ramsey attended dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he graduated with honors.
When Dr. Ramsey is not caring for patients and creating beautiful smiles he enjoys spending time in his kitchen where he loves to cook and create new dishes.
Dr. Ramsey also enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and daughter Mckenzie. In May of 2011 the Ramsey’s will be welcoming a new baby girl to their family.

Dr. Martich was born in Indiana in a small town on Lake Michigan, but quickly became an Arizona transplant. From the age of two, Dr. Martich was able to establish roots in a rapidly growing Valley, eventually attending high school at Brophy College Prep. Dr. Martich completed his undergraduate education at the University of Arizona, majoring in Physiology through the College of Medicine. Following undergrad, Dr. Martich was presented with the opportunity to return to the Valley and become a member of the inaugural class of Midwestern's College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Martich enjoys employing modern dental technologies and materials in the practice of dentistry, while also staying focused on the fundamentals. Being a member of the My Family Dental Centers group has enabled Dr. Martich to expand his clinical abilities through mentorship with his experienced colleagues. Dr. Martich's goal is to work with patients as a team and help them achieve a healthy mouth and a smile they will be proud to display. Dr. Martich is a member of the Arizona Dental Association.
Dr. Martich has an intense passion for mountain biking, which has taken him from Sedona to New Mexico. Ranking far behind bikes, he also enjoys home improvement, computers and cooking.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Carl R. Wright completed his undergraduate studies on academic scholarship at Idaho State University. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biology. He later attended the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and certificate in Public Health. While there he was privileged to be a part of the Senior Advance Restorative & Cosmetic Team and upon graduation was honored with the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Dental Award of Excellence.
After dental school, Dr. Wright chose to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with Lutheran Medical Center. This advanced training in Full-mouth Rehabilitation, Oral Medicine, Endodontics, Periodontal Surgery, Sedation, and both Laser and Implant Dentistry gives him the ability to excel in his profession and meet the needs of his patients.
Community health is a passion of Dr. Wright’s; he enjoys spending time volunteering his skills with Valley non-profit organizations and participates in a yearly medical mission trip to Southern Mexico. He is involved at both the local and national level in his profession. Being an active member of: the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Endodontists and the Academy of Osseointegration allows him to stay current with emerging oral medicine technologies.
In his spare time, Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, hiking, hunting, fishing, golfing and nature photography. Together Dr. Wright and his family have enjoyed making Arizona their home and he looks forward to working with you and your family in the future.
Nathan Smith, DMD

Dr. Smith grew up in beautiful Alpine, Utah where he grew up with his wonderful parents and seven brothers and sisters. Dr. Smith was a dentally challenged kid having spent a lot of time in the dental chair including wearing braces three times! It’s no wonder he chose to become a dentist!
Once the goal was determined, he carefully planned out the steps he would need to take to achieve his dream. After graduating from American Fork High School, Dr. Smith attended the University of Utah, where he completed his pre-dental requirements majoring in German with a chemistry minor.
He then attended one of the top dental programs in the country, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in Boston, MA where he received his DMD. He made the Dean’s list for academic achievement and scored high honors on the National Dental Board Exam. He devoted much of his time volunteering in the dentally underserved communities in the Boston area teaching children and providing dental care to them.
After becoming Board Certified and licensed to practice dentistry, he took his first job in Rochester NH, where he worked closely with his mentor Richard M. Farina and learned excellence in dentistry. He was recognized by a leading dental management company as the top young dentist in front of a few thousand of his colleagues in Philadelphia.
He moved to sunny Gilbert, Arizona in 2005 to get out of the cold and be closer to his family. He prides himself on providing only the best care to his patients. He is committed to providing his patients with the finest dental care. To this end, he is continually learning and attends many courses and conferences ensuring that he is always at the top of his profession. Dr. Smith is a member of many dental groups including the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of General Dentistry, and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
When Dr. Smith is away from the office he enjoys time with his wife Allison, two beautiful daughters, Savannah and Boston and energetic son, Sammy, as well as with his friends and family. He is a big kid that likes to play hard when he is finished with the day’s work. Anything that requires action he’ll do. Among his favorite activities are riding his road bike and motorcycle. He likes boating and hiking, working out, and playing any kind of sports.

Dr. Jeremy Skinner was born and raised in Tempe, AZ. He earned his bachelor degree from Brigham Young University, where he met and married his lovely wife Hannah. Dr. Skinner studied dentistry at the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.
As a member of the Academy of General Dentists and the Arizona Dental Association, Dr. Skinner strives to stay current with the latest developments in the field of dentistry through continuing education. He loves all aspects of dentistry and enjoys working with both adults and children. Dr. Skinner's goal is to make his patient's dental experience a pleasant one by discussing treatment options, answering questions, and providing a comfortable environment.
Dr. Skinner and his wife have 3 beautiful daughters, Madelyn, Molly, and Halle. Away from the practice, Dr. Skinner loves spending time with his family and playing sports of all kind, including wakeboarding, snowboarding, and spending time outdoors.
Jared M. Mayer, DMD

Dr. Jared Mayer grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in the Valley of the Sun for more than a decade. He received his B.S. in Kinesiology from Arizona State University and later attended dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona, where he graduated with honors. Growing up the son of an artist, Dr. Mayer has always had an eye for detail and the ability to conceptualize an idea and bring it to life through his excellent craftsmanship.
He enjoys all aspects of treating his patients and and understands that each person is unique and has different needs. Because of this, Dr. Mayer not only provides first class dental care every day, but he also works with compassion and empathy.
When he is not helping his patients, Dr. Mayer enjoys doing home improvement projects and spending time with his wife Katie and their three dogs. He is also committed to helping the lives of neglected animals and supports a number of local and national animal welfare organizations.

Larry G. Groop, DMD

Dr. Groop grew up near the New Jersey Shore and joined the Army after attending Kent State University. After being stationed in the Pacific Northwest, he graduated from Washington State University. Dr. Groop served as a police officer before attending dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He graduated with honors and received a scholarship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists for his excellence in implant placement and restoration.
Dr. Groop is committed to exceeding the expectations of his patients and actively pursues ongoing training opportunities. He enjoys spending time getting to know each patient and building relationships that foster optimum dental health.
Outside of his work in the practice, Dr. Groop devotes time to his family. He also likes traveling, scuba diving, and learning to play golf in sunny Arizona.

Dr. Bazilus joined our practice in 2007. He received his DDS from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and completed an advanced general dentistry residency at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. During his residency, Dr. Bazilus honed his skills in full-mouth rehabilitation, periodontal surgery, dental implant placement and restoration, sedation dentistry, and Invisalign orthodontics.
His postgraduate residency sets him apart because of the enormous commitment and considerable talent it required. Dr. Bazilus was awarded the Chancellors’ Award and the Harry M. Paul Award during his training. A vested part of the dental community, Dr. Bazilus is a member of the Arizona Dental Association, Central Arizona Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Dental Association.
Dr. Bazilus returned to Phoenix in 2007 to take advantage of the activities available in Arizona, especially camping, hiking, and fishing. He also likes to golf, run, surf, and travel. Dr. Bazilus places a high priority on community service. He’s a volunteer with several charitable organizations in the Phoenix area, including the Boys and Girls Club and Give Kids a Smile. Dr. Bazilus has also performed charity work in Veracruz, Mexico.
Jordan D. Karren, DMD

Dr. Jordan Karren DMD grew up in a small farming community in Southern Alberta Canada. Although he is not a native to Arizona, Dr. Karren has always claimed Arizona as his second home. After visiting his snowbird grandparents in Mesa, Arizona as a child, Dr. Karren knew this is where he would eventually raise a family and start a career in Dentistry. Like most Canadians who grew up in a small town, Dr. Karren enjoyed playing community sports like ice hockey, football and soccer. He continued his ice hockey career through college by playing for the BYU IceCats of Provo, Utah.
After completing high school in Canada, Dr. Karren served a two year church service mission to Kenya Africa. While serving in the poverty stricken areas of east Africa, Dr. Karren determined that he would like to be in a career where he can help others. Upon completion of his mission in Africa, Dr. Karren returned to the United States and completed his Bachelors in Science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Dr. Karren finished his dental school at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa Az. While completing his studies at ASDOH, Dr. Karren enjoyed working and volunteering at many of the Phoenix area community health centers. St. Vincent de Pauls Children’s Dental Clinic and Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS) were two of Dr. Karren’s favorite clinics to volunteer at.
After receiving his DMD degree from Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, Dr. Karren continued his studies through a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). Dr. Karren’s residency program was offered by Lutheran Medical Center and excelled in comprehensive dental treatment though the use of dental implants, lasers, molar endodontics, and full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Karren is a member of the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) as well as the American Dental Association (ADA).
When not in the office, Dr. Karren enjoys exploring Arizona’s beautify scenery through hiking, fishing, and camping. He still enjoys playing pick up hockey with fellow Canadians, but has also adopted more Arizona native sports like golf and tennis.

Highly trained in the management of dental anxiety and the alleviation of dental pain, Dr. Ryff practices a patient-centered approach to dentistry. By using a chairside flat-screen monitor, which visually displays problem areas found on X-rays, Dr. Ryff helps his patients to better understand their dental condition and available treatment options.
Personal Life
As a lifelong Arizonan, Dr. Ryff and his wife, Marissa, enjoy time spent outdoors, camping, fishing, and kayaking. He and his wife have a chocolate Labrador retriever named Kona and a cat named Purrpa.

John S. Coleman, DMD

Dr. Coleman was born and raised in Mesa, Az. He attended Red Mountain High school where he graduated in 1991. After serving a 2 year service mission in Costa Rica, Dr. Coleman continued his education at Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Zoology in 1998. Dr Coleman pursued his dental education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he graduated in 2002 with honors. Dr. Coleman keeps up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry to be able to offer his patients an array of dental treatment options. This includes Lumineers, cosmetic restorations, and implant placement. Dr. Coleman also has served several dental missions to Mexico, Brazil, and Costa Rica
Dr. Coleman was married to his wife Gabriela in 1996; they have three boys Logan 11, Jake 9, and Drew 5. He currently lives in Gilbert where his kids attend school.
When Dr. Coleman is not performing dentistry he spends his time volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, camping, hiking, and biking. He likes to participate in the sport of triathlon. John is an active volunteer in the community where he enjoys helping others.
